HELP, is he just Not into ME?

I met this guy online, we met, dated a couple of times for about two months, then I did not hear from him for a month after he stood me up. He called me back, apologize and we started dating again. we dated for an additonal 4 months, I really am attracted to him so we became ual, I bought him gifts and express to him how I felt...he however is "very quiet" as he put it, he claims he really like me and hope we work out..here are my questions...I feel he is not straight with me and he did it again...we were supposed to spend Christmas together and he spent christmas eve with me, left to go home to come back and only came back for a min then left again (something about his brother has some emergency) I just do not believe him...I feel he is playing me, as I spend more time with him I am discovering more and more that he tells small lies and may not be completely straightforward with me, he is opening up more and more, but I just cannot kick the feelin that maybe I need to just let this go...he is 39, I am 31..
