Suggestions for a new logo i'm trying to make?

hello. im trying to create some new logo samples using illustrator. i was wondering if there are any ideas of what i could make. keep in mind, im not an expert in illustrator. the organization im volunteering for is without Borders. im remaking their original logo which was a soccer ball/globe because they donate soccer to kids in wartorn hard living areas and they work with the military to do this. i was thinking maybe a soccer ball going through gl or a little soccer ball mascot, but not sure on the details. any ideas? thanks!
