Why do I get so angry when someone sniffs?
Since I was about 10 years old I've had this condition where I become extremely angry when someone sniffs. I can't take the sound. It literally takes over my body and I feel as if I'm going to explode. I'm 23 now, and throughout the years I've developed different ways to deal with it. For example, if I flick or smack my ear the anger goes away (crazy I know). I try to keep it as unnoticeable as possible. I've gotten better at doing so over the years as well. Is this a case of OCD?? I've also developed an anger towards other sounds as well. For example, when one of my roommates plays music and I can hear it, no matter how quiet or loud, I literally go ballistic. I have to go in my room and put pillows over my head so they don't think I'm nuts (which I think I may be!!). Other bodily sounds bother me as well but nothing like sniffing. I literally have envied deaf people before just because they didn't have to hear that horrible sound. What is wrong with me and how do I fix it???
