Why is it that...?

if I want to hear Nine Inch Nails, Nickleback, or 2 Live Crew they are on the internet free. But if I want to hear Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me, or another Christian artist, I have to buy their album. Who is really trying to make money here?
